Good point - it's the actually the ALERTING  want to suppress, not the
DOWN status as such. The option to "alert on errors/downs/both" would be
best applied to the alerts rather than the check itsself. We have a
number of errors that we show on the web output but don't send an alert
for.

As things stand I guess that means an option like "When: Ignore status
UNAVAILABLE" or something like that?

False positives


So, you want an additional check box on the alerts "when" that will
ignore ALL check errors? Timeouts, permissions, bad hair days, etc...?
 
I LIKE IT!
 
Makes me think, I could have one alert with only verified downs go to my
engineers, and then another alerts to my catch-all for every thing. 
 
Oooo-ooo!! Even better, have my Server admins get all the error alerts,
and the process engineers get the verified downs!
 
Now that would be a nice feature!
