Try to start by limiting the scope by just setting the enterprise OID

Well the document did not have an example of what I was looking for. The OID
is where I am having the issue. I entered the Enterprise OID, and set the types
to * as suggested. But the 4 rows for different OID entries, this is where I
don’t know if I have it right. For example for an APC unit.

Name: Cincinnati APC 1

AgentIP: 1.2.3.4

SoureIP: 1.2.3.4

Enterprise OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.318

Community: public

Generic Type: *

Specific Type: *

OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0.5 [checked] (contains) “switched to
battery”

^^ I don’t know if the above is right.. I am trying to send test SNMP
and the viewer see’s this.. which I also mimicked to try and generate an
alert, still nothing.

Counter: 0

Sender: 1.2.3.4

Agent: 1.2.3.4

EnterpriseOID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.318

Date/time: 6/18/2012@16:47

OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0

Type: 67

Value: 225336350

OID: 1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.4.1.0

Type: 6

Value: 1.3.6.1.4.1.318.0.636

Thank you,

Subject: [SA-list] Trap Receiver

So I finally understand the wonderful world of SNMP, MIBs and OIDs!! I am
looking for the SA general user manual, but I cannot seem to locate it anymore
on the website. I know the last revision was still for 6, but I am looking on
how to setup the Trap Receiver Alerts. I’ve setup a couple, and when I
send a test trap from the device I get nothing, no email alert. Anyone have
that document?

Thank you,
