Bob,
I’m using the 11 version, service is using lmgrd.exe – 11.4.100.0 It’s visible when I make a new check – nt service - list: FLEXlm Service 1 Did you try to do the same SA-check from another computer? Also use the check on its listener port (8020) I’ve had some situations that the service was running but no connection possible. So no user could start the Cad software. I think it’s better to check also the real entry point for the software (eg the port) then rely only on a service check. Those checks run successfully so the problem is isolated to the FlexNet service. I played around with Systernal's PSService.exe utility which can be used to turn remote services on/off, query and search for services. It also got "Access Denied" errors on this service as well but not on others. I checked the properties on this service and it is setup to logon with a local account. It has no dependencies. ---------------------- Bob Hartung Dir of I.T. I have 2 older versions of FlexLM (v8.5 & v10.0) running on a different system than the one that I'm having issue with and they work fine. The version I'm having problems with (v11.10.1) is quite different from previous versions. For one, it uses a web interface for admin purposes instead the GUI in previous versions. ---------------------- Bob Hartung Dir of I.T. I've setup dozens of other service checks without a problem but this one has me stumped. The service is for FlexNet Publisher v11.10.1. It's a software licensing server that hands out license tokens for our CAD software. Here's the message returned by SA ... Lic01 is DOWN (ERR: Getservice status - OpenService - 5-Access is denied. I've tried the local admin as well as no authentication but nothing seems to work. I'm running SA Ent. v7.0.2505 on a Windows XP Pro SP3 PC.
