Actually, considering the hassle that there would be with coding, why not fit a 68008 instead of a z8xxxxx? They're cheap, 8-bit, readily available and, with a bit of fiddling with the screen, perhaps you could run QL stuff. Far too much effort, methinks.
Or a Pentium.
