Hi Simon!
SI> Announcing the new and funky highly technical magazine:
SI> "Based on an idea..."
SI> Coming soon...
Wow, should I still renew my Format subscription which has just expired
or is it absolutely sure that this mag will appear, so I won't need
Format anymore? (Pleaase say yes to the latter!!) :-)
SI> The only thing is, we're looking for potential writers - especially
the
SI> Entropy bods...
Unfortunately I can't help you much as I never really programmed the SAM
at mc-level (just some very small routines) so I don't have such an
in-depth
knowledge of the SAM, but I have some small and useful Basic utilities
(an ascii file reader, a hex/ascii file/memory brownser, a program that
creates an image file of a SAM disk like Teledisk and some others) of
which
you could publish the listing if you think they are appropriate for the
mag.
SI> Planned features so far include:
SI>
SI> An expose on the new Z380 chip, and what it can do...
SI> Reviews of the SC_Disk Protector ("The best 15 quid I've ever spent"
-
SI> Simon Cooke),
SI> Turbomon, SAM C...
SI> Explanations of how to read the mouse, check for its presence, and
how the
SI> mouse interface works...
SI> Bug fixes to SAM hardware...
SI> And hopefully a Spec Tec (or equivalent) technical help page, without
quite
SI> as many jokes...
Lot's of interesting topics, imho...
SI> It'll be 1.50 a copy, free copies to contributors... There might even
be a
SI> web version too... but don't hold your breath. (However, I can use
Adobe
SI> Acrobat, so that might be a format that people can read it in...
hmmm...)
A web version is a good idea, Acrobat is ok for me.
SI> Truetype symbol font for it... it'd better happen!!!
I hope so too! :-)
Cheers, Arne
