D-to-A converter? You can do that with resistors (as I know because I made a cable to feed a monochrome signal into my video from the +3 RGB socket). The 1377 also has to do the colour bursts and the alternating phase and stuff like that. It also modulates the chroma signal on to a 4.433619MHz carrier. imc
