Have to agree about about using undocumented opcodes where ever you can for speed, they are really really useful. In one of the numberous times i'd sit optimizing code for Stratosphere back in 1997, modifying the vector graphics code to use the undocumented opcodes did speed it up 30-40%, which was rather nice!
