Hi.
I have a question about the sam coupe power input. Wasn't sure where to ask it so I thought I would try here A while ago I bought a sam coupe on the net. It didn't have a power supply but the seller said that a spectrum +3 supply works with sam and sent one along with the it. For one reason or another I hadn't got round to trying to test it till yesterday. The problem is I don't want to plug it in until I know that this power supply will work.
Could the spectrum +3 psu possibly supply the sam with power ok?
Thanks for your help.
Jonathan.

Hi Jonathan,

Everyone who told you , a +3 PSU can power a SAM, tells you utter crap. If he connected the +3 PSU to SAM, he fried him probably. +5V is OK, but +12V is connected to -12V and TV modulator output got high voltages too.

If it still works, it is just luck.
You can adapt a +5/+12V dual voltage PSUs which are common for external HDDs, if they supply 5V at 2 or more Ampere.
