Hi. Thanks for the replies. I suspected as much but i wanted to check with the experts first. I guess i'll have to either try and convert the spec psu or try to buy a proper one from somewhere else. Does anyone have a spare one they could sell? I got the sam cheaper than what they usually go for so i might have bought it anyway and then tried to get another power supply in the hope that the computer is still working ok. regards, Jonathan.

GND is on different pins too. He will blow up his SAM or the PSU or both. It will definitly not work. Technicaly impossible! If you like the smell of burned electronics, test it yourself. Spectrum+3 PSU has 2x+5V, -5V, 2x+12V, -12V SAM has +5V, +12V and outputs to the TV modulator build into the PSU. It is possible to modify the +3 PSU to supply SAM by changing the connections. Sam Coupe has a standard DIN 5 pole plug. Check your handbook on page 173 for the data. If the plus 3 Power Supply has higher than a 5 volts DC supply, then its not ok to use it though (might be the case, as original ZX Spectrum has about 9 to 12 Volts DC Power Supply). Juni, 2011 21:38 Uhr Hi. I have a question about the sam coupe power input. Wasn't sure where to ask it so I thought I would try here A while ago I bought a sam coupe on the net. It didn't have a power supply but the seller said that a spectrum +3 supply works with sam and sent one along with the it. For one reason or another I hadn't got round to trying to test it till yesterday. The problem is I don't want to plug it in until I know that this power supply will work. Could the spectrum +3 psu possibly supply the sam with power ok? Thanks for your help. Jonathan.
