Hi Mike,
The problem with those "ROM"-type sites is that often they aren't kept
up-to-date. For example, the version of Defender they are carrying is
the original release from way back in 1998 - red Digital Reality logo.
WOS and the "ftp.nvg.ntnu.no/pub/sam-coupe" archive carry the (better)
second release - green DR logo. But only WOS carries the (best) last
and final release - rug pattern without logo.
So those "ROM" sites are probably useful for obscure and/or software
that hasn't been officially released, but for all other software WOS
is still the preferred way to all things SAM. Closely followed by the
ftp.nvg.ntnu.no/pub/sam-coupe archive. Although that archive doesn't
carry some of the later/more recent files available on WOS.
