Hello Hubert. When you say xsane does crash often on your system then please describe a way I can reproduce a crash. I need an exact description from startup of xsane, please describe every button you press and every mouse click.
I also need the preferences files ~/.sane/xsane/xsane.rc and the *.drc file of your scanner in the same directory. Please also give the following information: - scanner vendor and type - sane-backends-version and version of the backend when you applied any patches - gtk+, glib and gimp versions Please send the files to me directly, not to the list.
