Hi abc,
ok, I have tested under Windows in 300dpi and it works!
I have also nailed the issue down a bit more. The error
occurs only in gray scale mode!
All tests based on xsane.
Available resolutions:
75,100,150,200,300,600,1200
Monochrome : Works in all resolutions
Grey scale : Does NOT work in 200,300,600
Color : Works in all resolutions
So it all comes down to that "only" gray scale in
200,300 and 600 is not working. Maybe this gives a better
hint. Sry for not having tested detailed enough before.
The error is such that the page is being displaced (cut at the
top)
the most in 200dpi and seems to "shift" down when going up to
300 and 600 and being correct again at 1200.
Many tnx and cheers,
Matt

Hello,
First, I thought to downgrade support tag of this device from :good to
:basic or even :minimal. But, after second thought I assume that your
device may be broken. IF image is shifted (cut above but empty band IS
below) THEN it is probably not driver problem, but device problem.
Your device may be damaged (or somehow lost calibration) after
transportation.
Test the scanner in Windows on desired resolutions. If it does not have
have same problem under Windows, test again under Linux if problem
persists. Please report your findings.

Hi all,
as suggested by pavlushka on irc, I am posting my problem to this
list.
I am using a Xerox Workcentre 3220 MFP. I have the issue that the
scanning
area is broken for all resolutions >150dpi. To be exact, only
resolution
150 and 1200 works. When using 300dpi, for example,
about 20% of the page is cut at the top. It looks like the page is
shifted
up. The same amount (of course) then stays white at the bottom of the
page.
I am using git snapshot ppa:
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.26git; backend version 1.0.26
OS: Kubuntu trusty.
Scanner details (output from "scanimage -A -d "xerox_mfp:tcp print1"):
All options specific to device `xerox_mfp:tcp print1':
Standard:
--resolution 75|100|150|200|300|600|1200dpi [150]
Sets the resolution of the scanned image.
--mode Lineart|Halftone|Gray|Color [Color]
Selects the scan mode (e.g., lineart, monochrome, or color).
--highlight 30..70% (in steps of 10) [inactive]
Select minimum-brightness to get a white point
--source Flatbed|ADF|Auto [Flatbed]
Selects the scan source (such as a document-feeder).
Geometry:
-l 0..215.9mm (in steps of 1) [0]
Top-left x position of scan area.
-t 0..297.18mm (in steps of 1) [0]
Top-left y position of scan area.
-x 0..215.9mm (in steps of 1) [215.9]
Width of scan-area.
-y 0..297.18mm (in steps of 1) [297.18]
Height of scan-area
Regarding the support page the support for Workcentre 3220 should be
"good".
Though, not being able to use 200 and 300dpi is not so good ;-)
Any idea how to get around this issue? Any customizable parameters?
Thanks a lot for any help!
Cheers,
Matt
