Sai suggested that people on this mailing list send their responses directly
to the quiz master (Vis Tekumalla <[EMAIL PROTECTED]). I do not think
this will be a good idea.

When people post their responses on this board, there will be other people
on thiis board who learn from their mistakes and experiences. If the
responses were sent directly to the quiz master, this would not be possible.

Also sending responses to this list would increase the transfer of ideas
within the group members, which is always good and must be encouraged.

I agree with many members of this list on the merits of a transliteration
convention. But I believe some members may not have the computer skills or
ability or time to learn it. It would be good if everyone could use standard
conventions, but we do not have that luxury at this moment.

Also I feel we should not let this lack of a standard transliteration stop
some members from learning from other members in this group.

We are very fortunate that there are members in this list who are well
versed in the area of transliterations and do hope we all can one day
eliminate the problem of misinterpretation caused by the absence of
transliterations.

Let us continue with the sanskrit quiz as it is and hopefully the percentage
of misinterpreted meanings will be low.
