Priya teerdha mahaasayah,

I am having a doubt about how to do before starting any Japa or pooja --
Whom to pray first- Ganapathi or Guru?

In my openion ShreeGuru`s place is decided as BrahmaRandhra
Brahmarandhre Gurum smaret. Which is the gateway of all the universe
Lokasya dwaaramarchimatpavitram and the place for Paramatma.

Ganapathi`s place is said to be the Moolaadhara which represents the seat of
Jeevatma and eartly pleasures.

In my openion Shree guruh sarva karanabhootha Shakthih and
Shree Maha Ganadhipathaye namah would the proper order.
But all the scriptures say Ganpathi should be memorized first before praying
Any God or Deity. As `Pradhama Pujya` Will this rule has to be applied to
Guru also? Will anyone clear my doubt in this regard?
Krishnarao Lanka.
