The following is the verse composed by kaanci paramaacaarya to be sung by MS
Subbulakshmi at United nations.
maitrIm bhajata, akhila hrit jaitrIm |
Atmavad eva parAnnapi pashyata |
yudhham tyajata, spardhAm tyajata |
tyajata pareShu akrama-AkramaNam ||
What is the grammatical form of the verbs:
bhajata, pashyata, tyajata ?
It is not laT or leT (vedic subjunctive).
Is it lu^N without the augment? Is it justified to use it in this case?
Of course paramaacaarya is a great sanskrit scholar and would not use words
without justification. Please discuss.
