Since nobody posted a response, here it is:
You use sambodhana form "shaarade" only if you're addressing her
directly.
In the Sloka, the sentence is "SAradA sannidhim kriyat"
"May Sarada bring xyz closer"
> e.g. ambhujam, pankajam, vaarijam---sthree lingam
> sarOja, vanajA----napumsakalingam
You got it in reverse. sarojA, vanajA etc are strI lingam whereas
ambujam, pa~nkajam are napu.nsaka lingam.
I think ambu+ja etc. can be used in all three lingams. The actual
form used is inferred from the context.
ambujam arpitam ambujena ambujAyai |

- Sai.
