It is a poem by the Sanskritist (Late) S.B.Varnekar. He also
wrote the epic poem Shivarajyodayam. He was honored by the Sahitya
(Literature) Academy of India by the Award for Sanskrit literature in 1974.

All that Yogesh mahodaya wrote is correct but for one
thing. pANini defines the term "kAraka" by stating
(a list of) the "kAraka"s. Not by describing its
meaning. All the same, Yogesh mahodaya's description
as "verb-related" is also correct. The implication
that "sambandha" as a kAraka is not seen in pANin's
grammar is also correct.

Hi all,
I have just started learning sanskrit grammar
and one big problem I am facing is
1) On coming across a new verb (dhatu) in any
sanskrit sentence, how does one find out
what conjugation (gana) does the dhatu belong to ?
2) Some dhatus are present in more than one
conjugation. How does one know which is the proper
conjugation to use ?
3) If someone has some material having clarification
then could someone please send the soft copy of
the material to me ?

I have wondered about the application of ZrI in the names of Sanskrit
works. For example, does ZrI guru stotram mean the hymn to the glorious
Guru, or the glorious hymn to the Guru?
The same question for name-derived adjectives: does ZrI pAtaJjala yoga
ZAstram mean the Yoga scripture by the glorious PataJjali or the
glorious Yoga scripture by PataJjali?
