Dear All,
I am K. Krishna Chaitanya from IIT Madras. I am in my second year M.Tech
Computer Science. I joined the group only yesterday.
Read the mail from Mr. Kale and the replies to that. I would like to add that
the Union Cabinet has decided to declare Sanskrit as a "Classical Language."
Sanskrit is second such language to be classified as a Classical Language,
after Tamil. The criteria for terming a language as Classical is that it
should be more than 2000 years old. Now the criteria is relaxed to 1500 years.
Centre is also considering the representations to include Telugu and Kannada
in this list.
Declaring a language as Classified, entitles, the Universities and the research
scholars, grant of funds for carrying forward their work. This will also
enable to institute a separate chair for the language in the Universities.
Hope this comes as a sweet news one and all here.
Cheers,
K. Krishna Chaitanya.

Govind Mahodaya,
A thought came to my mind.........
If some Computer Science student is looking for ideas for MS project
(in India or USA university) then may be he/she can do the project a
"translater" which will take input as
>>>>>> shlokaH 8
eva.n sampUjya bhagavAnatharvA~Ngirasa.n tadA .
vyasarjayanmahArAja devarAjaH shatakratuH .. 8..\
And the "translater" program creates DevaNagri script
If we see some of these shlokahs in DevaNagri script as well the joy of
reading will
increase !!
But I think that the project could be some what complex....
..... just a thought.
