You should be able to create as many new media as you like. Could you please describe 
the exact steps you do in DBMGUI/DBMCLI to reproduce the error.

Or try the following:

1.) DBMGUI->Instance->Configuration->Backup Medium
2.) DBMGUI->BackupMedium->New->Medium
3.) Enter name and location and press "save"
4.) DBMGUI->Instance->Backup->Complete Data, select the newly created medium and start 
the backup

Where does your error occur?

By the way you can recycle a medium for a new backup (if you delete the old backup 
file, or check the overwrite flag of the medium).
