I don't know if it will help, but the server, does it have a domain
controller? If that's true, then you could try to create a user that your
database process can run under. You would probably need to give the user
administrative rights and also give the user permission to 'log on as a
service'.

My experience with domain controllers is that nothing works out of the box
anymore.
