In the long term (3-n years):
The mysql people will have worked hard to port/adapt/integrate the sapdb engine into the mysql system and if they have done well you ought to be able to migrate (from real sapdb) to using sapdb via the mysql system without too much pain.
Despite all Zak said, i still believe that MySQL will "rewrite" SAPDB rather than "integrating" it.
Everything else would be foolish, particularly because SAP is going to use the new product.
One question should be answered:
Will there be some kind of "migration-kit" to migrate from SAPDB to the new MySQL product (not the rebranded SAPDB)?
