If you wish to use Satchmo 0.7, you can't use Django 1.0 or Django 0.96a

Try using this Django snapshot if you want to stick with 0.7
http://www.satchmoproject.com/snapshots/django-trunk-8130.tar.gz

However, if you're going to be developing a Satchmo store, I'd recommend
starting with satchmo trunk (check it out with the svn command)
