i had meeted the question like you.i think the problem  is maybe
version between django and satchmo.
i think it is better  to use the svn version of django and the svn
version of satchmo.
do not use satchmo 0.7  and django 1.0 at one time like me ,i had
meeted the question like you.

this is my result after change:
M:\shop>python manage.py satchmo_check
Checking your satchmo configuration.
Using Django version 1.1 pre-alpha
Using Satchmo version 0.8-pre-SVN-1680
Your configuration has no errors.
