Hi, I have observed users of Satchmo with similar problems such as this. I have had instances of customers placing orders on the site, and often times their Balance Forward shows up as the total of their order.
In our office, I attached a memo to the board for our admins to say that, basically any order with the Balance Forward total being identical to the order placed means that the customer never finished their order. I confirmed this with the first customer, as they said they were just browsing the site, even though their details and address were submitted to us, which is very odd. Lately however, some customers who are actually paying for items are having their Balance Foward show up as what we deemed was a failed order, and as such their order was ignored until we saw the the payment notifications from PayPal. It seems that Balance Forward is, as of version 0.97 acting, on some occasions as a false positive. It doesn't always work, and until it gets fixed I would recommend other users to pay close attention to PayPal/Google Checkout accounts, as the Satchmo signals aren't always firing out to them.
