For what it's worth, I've been working for the last several months in
the Microsoft Robotics Studio group. The group has a pretty interesting
perspective on robotic software development. At some point I could do
some sort of talk/bull session about it if there's some interest.

Subject: [saturdayhouse] Re: electronics expansion
This electronics talk has definitely peaked my interest. I used
to have quite an interest in robotics, and spent a lot of time reading
books on how to build them, attending Seattle Robotics Society events,
and following the FIRST competitions (http://www.usfirst.org/). If
people are interested in going in this kind of a direction I'm
definitely eager to put a lot of effort into it. Otherwise, I'd still
like to get comfortable with a soldering iron.

I wanted to shout out quickly - the group goes in every
and all directions.
Saturday House has always been about being a sum (or
greater than the sum) of the attendees' interests, whether they be
common or unique.
We have at least one "regular" who's pursuing
electronics on the side, and a few others (myself included) are looking
to follow him.
Tangentially related, I want to get into robots (beyond
my Lego Mindstorms kits) purely based on videos I've seen on youtube.
Come with your interest, bring whatever you like to
Saturday House, and do it in the company of others who will no doubt
share your curiousity, interest, and passion.

I've heard talk both here and at saturday house

into electronics. I personally am interested in
that, and I know at
least one person who might be interested in
joining if the group moves
in that direction. What is the current status of
those plans? What
type of equipment/facilities are people thinking
of?
