Apparently from the different feedbacks that we had, this is more a
configuration issue than a bug in the software.
Two other users experiencing the same issue reported that it went away by
tweaking the server's configuration.
I believe this could be the same in your case. For instance the fact that
increasing the buffer on the clients fixes the issue indicates that the
problem comes from the fact that your liquidsoap fails to compute the
transitions at real time, hence the need to buffer.
So what you can do is try to increase the priority of your running
liquidsoap, or possibly use the {{{lag}}} operator (just before the
output), which will add a buffer into liquidsoap itself between the smart
crossfade and your clients.
We'll be very interested in knowing wether adding a lag can help fixing
the issue..
