 Just and update,

 OK, I've changed the machine (as the single core system wasn't ideal for
 JACK), and in turn had to move back from the real time kernel to the
 normal stock Intrepid kernel. I found on this switch that this behavior is
 now happening without frame.size directives.

 I understand the 320 frame size is pretty low, but JACK doesn't seem too
 fussed by a frame size is tad smaller. Either way I'll happily accept this
 might cause some glitches.

 I've been using sync = true in my icecast.output commands all along.

 I think this is possibly the use of JACK that is upsetting something and
 something is carrying through that prevents the logging.

 If a connection drops, I need liq to attempt to reconnect, and likewise
 provide info about this in the log.

 I'll try and do something to replicate this on my dev machine or laptop in
 due course.
