Weird, maybe faad doesn't support metadata?
In any case, I felt that I should add a recent observation that faad
causes segfaults. Also Romain told me that the lib has gone to version 2
and our code doesn't compile against that anymore.
It seems that we have to update our faad code, or drop it. If you're using
it, I guess it should be an update.
