 Ok, none of the above has fixed the issue, even the most conservative
 coding options. I am now considering a wrong hint from the trace of the
 segfault.

 If the segfault is random, the trace may show a potential weak part of the
 code which is just randomly used at this time. Even a correlation can be a
 side effect of the heavy use of this code, in particular when it is the
 code that deals with video data..

 I am now suspecting some other issue, in particular an illegal access in
 an Array, which would relate this bug to #354 and, with the proposed fix,
 #329...
