On RadioPi, we use the standard Debian setting, which means that .liq
scripts are located in /etc/liquidsoap and run through the
/etc/init.d/liquidsoap init script.Logs are located in
/var/log/liquidsoap and rotated using the provided logrotate script.

That's unfortunate!

I would recomment updating to liquidsoap 0.9.3 or a recent SVN, in the
hope that your bug is fixed. We are planning to prepare an updated
package with 1.0 beta or a recent SVN in Debian soon. Hopefully it
should make it into Ubuntu.

You can compile and install a custom liquidsoap and still use the
default production settings from the Debian package. The only thing
you have to do is edit /etc/init.d/liquidsoap and change the path to
liquidsoap binary to /usr/local/bin/liquidsoap
