Thanks for the extra feedback concerning the bug. It's very useful.

First, let's get one thing out of the way: clocks won't help. They can
make outputs independent but won't solve a complete freeze like that.

The frozen telnet is a sign that the "light thread" system (duppy) is
down. This may be a bug in that system, or perhaps a faulty task
waiting forever on a silent socket. I'd like to develop a better
scenario of what could be going on. However, I'll also ask you
something more if that's possible: could you upgrade one more time to
the beta (or directly svn) version? You'd do us a big favor: the duppy
system has been rewritten in those versions, so I'd rather debug the
new code -- it could be that the bug is gone, too.
