You can have a distant liquidsoap, request files to play on it, and
listen to it, to achieve what you described. Now, what people call "on
demand playing" generally include that the stream doesn't play when
nobody listens (in fact, it usually implies that there is only one
listener). That is also possible, for example using output.harbor().
