Liquidsoap 1.0 is stricted with mixed content types, but still
supports them. You just need to incorporate conversion operators,
typically audio_to_stereo.

The compilation error that you have (or had) may be due to an
incompatible version of duppy. This should never happen when compiling
from the full tarballs, unless the PACKAGES file is really broken (in
particular, it should always contain duppy as a package).
