You are probably being hit by this nasty bug in Ubuntu 10.01:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/liquidsoap/+bug/891054

In this case, you will need to recompile liquidsoap. Instructions
provided in the comments should be helpful..
