The way the game at Gulf War is played is that in order for a "new" breed to to be allowed to attend, one must provide the GW Kennel Lands person (me, this year) with documentation that the breed was used for coursing in period (let us NOT get into a discussion of whether or not there were "breeds" in period....I've been fighting THAT battle all month!) and also pledge that there will be at least 4 representatives of that breed in attendance. Anyone bringing a dog must pre-register for the war, and also notify the Kennel Lands person no later than January 31. All dogs and their owners at GW MUST camp on Kennel Lands.
The Borzoi people have gone to considerable lengths providing me with documentation, which was hard to find, since most of it was destroyed during the Russian Revolution. Hopefully, other breeds can do the same in the coming years.
