Dee -
The "dog saves baby and gets killed for it" story has MANY versions, the most
famous is "Beth Gellert". I have a collection of "Dog Tails" that I have put
together for storytelling if you would like to see it. Meanwhile I suggest the
book "The Mythology of Dogs: Canine Legend and Lore though the Ages" Gerald and
Loretta Hausman. St. Martins Press. 1997 and the web site "Folklore and
Mythology Electronic Texts" http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/type0178a.html

Then God sent the Greyhound to live among man and remember. And when the day
comes, God will call the Greyhound to give testament, and God will pass
judgement on man. Persian Proverb

> Dee, try two different books. One is "The Hound and the Hawk" which I
