Hi, all,

Since y'all are the canine experts in the SCA, I thought I'd start
here....I am working on a poem in the later Anglo-Saxon style
(Wessex), and for the topic of the poem, I'd like to focus on a
hound. Isn't there some story about a wolfhound who defended his
master's son from wolves, only to be killed because the master
thought the dog was the villain (not the wolves)? Does anyone have
useful sources or suggestions for more "hounds of myth and legend"?
(British Isles would be great, but I'm not too picky). OE poetry is
incredibly versatile in terms of topic--the devil is in the details
of meter and form, sigh.

Thanks!!

Derbail
