Can't you use the lure (on a string?) as a reward FOR obedience work? After all, a lot of the really big SchH trainers working with high drive GSDs use prey drive for nearly all their training. I know *I've* used that (very long tug toy, encouraging dog to chase and pounce it) to get revv'd up for a flyball run- seems like greyhounds would be MADE for that sort of reinforcer.
This of course, they are willing to work with any reinforcer at all... I've come to the conclusion that some dogs are just lazy. :D (Absolutely hilarious story told by a friend on another board about the obedience portion of the IW nationals.....)
