Actually, here in Trimaris, I report directly to the Earl Marshal.  I do not 
report to the Marshal of the Horse.  She and I are on equal footing.  Now, 
we do talk quite a bit and try to coordinate things.  It also helps that the 
Marshal of the Horse is my house sister. ;-)

Additionally, at a recent Kingdom Officers' meeting, the Kingdom Seneschal 
said that she will defer all canine related decisions to me, even those 
outside my duties listed in the charter.  She considers me the subject 
matter expert for all things canine and will back me on any decisions I 
make.  It's amazing how we've come from only allowing sighthounds five years 
ago.
