Does the mysql-EBS process mount the EBS drive to the slave that is being
promoted as fast as the non-EBS system promotes the slave w/o any EBS
mounting?

What is the likely-hood of the EBS data being corrupt being that the
mysql-master could have been cut off mid transaction? Wouldn't the
replicated slave be a more stable source of data?
