Do you know which applications they are looking at? I wrote a Java timetable generator some years ago for a training centre that ran 6 month learnership programmes. It worked well for them but not so well in a 5 day repeating timetable but that wasn't my focus at the time. I enjoy the problem area and was hoping to one day redevelop it in Python for the schooltool project.
