You'll definitely want to check out the tree window and create a mask 
for that very purpose. And you can fill this mask with a number of games 
in a database. Please have a look there, if masks really don't work out 
for your investigations or if you don't understand how they work feel 
free to ask. But the nice thing about a mask is that it also handles all 
transpositions properly.

You can do that in the masks as well. You've a bunch of annotation 
features there.
