Let's summarize things we seem to agree: - The main icon might be changed. - The icon upper left in the program windows should be changed, if technically possible, to match the main icon. - Icons within the main windows can be changed. - Startup window can be off by default (it might pop-up in case of errors at startup). - Default chessboard can be with pieces Merida and plain color. - Short headers in pgn window can be on by default. - (Following Michal's suggestion) Only basic information should be provided in gameinfo until a game is saved. I hope I am correct, so far...
Now the icons: I asked for the current icons just to have a template to modify. Alternatively, you can just tell me which dimension and format (png, gif, ...) you like, and i'll try to do my best. If somebody (Israel) already made a new logo, it is probably better than the current one. If you care about my opinion, i will be glad to see it. And finally, the general behavior: I don't want to insist, but i still fail to see at least why - we cannot use a more informative name such as Untitle1 or Database1 instead of Clipboard; - the game 0 cannot be called game 1, even if it is... how do you want to call it... virtual/unsaved/special, choose yourself; - the virtual/unsaved/special/starting database (or however you can call it, instead of database) is n. 0 and cannot be considered n. 1. But i won't push it further, because there are also other things that could be more important on usability that i didn't even mention yet. If you feel this discussion is useful and can lead to improvements, i will also have other observations.
