I can't reproduce this, if scid crash should be caused by c++ code, probably 
in the new sc_base_gameslist function.
When you have time, can you trace the bug?

I agree, the db switcher window can be improved.
What do you think about showing the results of "dbfilter" instead of "filter"?

I can't reproduce this, too.
Maybe can be caused by something in options.dat?
BTW I'm very pleased/surprised by how fast your sortcache code is.
I tryed with a 2M database and scrolling is immediate even on my slow netbook.
