Hi! A short comment only to this one at the moment.
I agree with Michal that I prefer something that exits and works. I also agree with Michal that one should _not_ try to find the perfect solution for life, universe and everything including chess, but base it on simple terms. AFAIK building an onthology from scratch is beyond that, free keywording is useless, I've proposed a way in the middle that (besides we in germany alwas build a working group that is slow and inefficient) proofed to work. I strongly DISAGREE with Michal on UIDs. These work and once established are well accepted. A prominent examples is DOI for scientific literature e.g. Besides I come from a discipline where you use to say "you should check this paper by Mueller" (Michals approach so far, unfortunately searching for the paper by Mueller is impossible) added by "I mean hep-ph/0107123". And everybody in this community knows how to handle that. It can't be shorter and more precise to the point than just to give the hep-number... I'll not comment much on all this anymore, as the discussion looses a bit the focus to set the thing up. There're only a few interesting new points but that needs a mailer with decent quoting. ----- original Nachricht -------- Betreff: Re: [Scid-users] Database for Scid: CentriScid Gesendet: Fr, 27.
