It should not, Makefile.conf has not changed. The problem comes from
Makefile which is in CVS so rerun ./configure ?

No, I simply changed img package detection (from tkimg to img::png which is
more correct.). See the code at the start of the file bitmaps.tcl. in case ,
I switched back to Tk 8.4 and I still have all piece sets ...

Tk 8.5 uses truetype fonts. So I guess their configuration must be changed
if necessary in options->fonts but for me there is no problem.
