I am mostly handling scoresheets not written by myself, and both the
handwriting and the actual notation can be so-so. For anything else I can
use the keyboard and type away, and I am a fast touch typist, so I can dump
large amounts of text into the computer without even looking at the screen.
And when inputting chess puzzles with many pieces on the board from books
into a computer I often find myself simply converting the book diagram to
FEN in my head and inputting that in Notepad before pasting it into
whatever chess program I use, rather than using board setup and dragging
pieces around.

But for handling these scoresheets that simply does not work for me. My
workflow is usually having two sets of scores on the left side of the
keyboard, then I use two fingers on my left hand to keep track of where I
am in both of the scores, both to see where I am and to compare the two
sets in case of mistakes or illegible handwriting, and then making the move
on the screen using my right hand on the mouse.

In addition, I imagine such a feature would be valuable for anyone using an
electronic chessboard to input moves, without even touching the mouse or
the keyboard.
