I think there is something wrong in your wrapper code. Since this
doesn't happens in SciTE, it shows you fall in a trap that was avoided
in the SciTE implementation.
I only worked this out when I saw the horizontal scroll bar thumb
getting narrower and narrower telling me that the lines were getting
longer and longer.
