Different applications show different behaviour here. IDLE (the
editor that comes with Python) and Visual C++ 6.0 are the same as
SciTE but newer versions of Visual Studio dim the selection.
Well, sure, if you want to talk about museum pieces - clearly we can
see where state-of-the-art GUIs are headed. ;) (or however you say BIG
