Fellow slugsters, If anyone is interested, we have an opening up at USD in Vermillion in ITS (Info. Tech. Services) where I work. Not sure if they have it in the paper yet, so go online and check out Employment at http://www.usd.edu.
It is a computer position on our helpdesk, PC and apps for department, faculty, and students mostly, and does pay somewhere around 25-30K to start (I think, don't quote me on that). I will say it is a great place to work, with 3 weeks vacation to start, holidays, retirement plan, etc. Is a State job. Jeans to work everyday if you so choose. Hectic, but laid back...if you know what I mean, we have about 1/2 the people we actually need. If there is such a thing as stable employment (no one is immune anywhere, I guess), this is it. We have it all, Microsoft, Unix (Solaris), Linux, MAC's, Xboxer's and whatever. We had someone move up into new position, so this one opened up. Last time we had position like this open up we had 100 resume's. Certs are not everything (or required), but they do not hurt either.
